At Playmates we believe in the importance of transitional objects.
We believe in the research from theorist John Bowlby (1969/1982)
"Children’s treatment of their favoured object as a substitute for their “natural” attachment figure when the person that is typically relied upon for comfort in anxiety-inducing situations is temporarily unavailable".
We encourage parents/carers to bring in comfort objects such as dummies and comfort blankets, we believe this will assist in providing comfort during the transition from home to pre-school, this often being the first time they have been away from their main carers.

This helps children to settle whilst still having a comfort from home.
